Feb 2007

So she had her first bath, and as you can see... SHE LOVED IT. Then Mom runs to take a picture, and Gabby has that look: "not another flash". Some photos really make her hair look red... Gracie's was the same. Her eyes are also getting much lighter, more blue everyday...I know, I know. If another person tells me it takes a "long time" for eye color to change, I'm going to puke. I started hearing that BS in 2002, 5 years later...it's still the same. Either people need to just keep quiet, or we need to stop having kids... either way, I'm tired of hearing about it.... SheeeeSSSH already. ;-)

Daddy-Daughter Dance: 2007

Gracie and I went to the Daddy-Daughter dance. It's our second year attending. Last year I think we danced about 3 songs, this year we danced all but three as can be witnessed by my sweaty head ;-)
On the way home Gracie asked if I knew what her favorite dance was....then she said "that one where you picked me up and held me". Talk about pulling your heart out... she was referring to a slow dance (Fathers be Good to Your Daughters, John Mayer).
She's a special girl for sure.
Where's all my hair?

Fathers be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers be good to your daughters too

TalaAustin Nights: sweet baby sister with no hair

At bedtime, Gavin is pretty cute. He was pretty tired last night mostly due to a hard day of playing. He also has a bit of a cold, which I'm sure drains a little of his energy.
Anyway, as I began to tuck him in after our normal reading time, he did not want to "look" through the book, as he normally does after we read it. Instead, he put his head on the pillow and closed his eyes. So naturally I asked, are you tired Gavin? He said "no I'm cold". I began to tuck him in a little lighter than normal making sure there were no air leaks for a cold breeze to chill him. Concerned about him being cold I asked if he wanted me to get him another blanket. Understanding clearly what I was asking, he looked at me in a very frustrated manner and said "no dad, I'm cold because Bacca gave it to me". Meaning of course, he has a cold which he got from Bacca...no extra blankets required ;-)
